Focus Question: How do new technologies create new opportunities for teaching and learning?
New technologies create new opporunities for teaching and learning by offering new methods which are more effective and fun for students. New technologies are also more interactive and allow the student to participate in ways that could not without the new technologies. Also, teachers can communicate with each other as well as with parents and administration more promptly as a result of the advancing technologies. All in all, there are many benefits to teaching and learning from the advancement of technology.

This link is helpful for educators looking to increase their knowlege of technology in the classroom. It had a variety of information available for download in PDF. Just a few topics were 3D Printing and
projecting from mobile devices. I briefly read the projecting from mobile devices and found it to be user friendly even for someone not familiar with technology.
Summary and Connection
This chapter is a basic overview of technology and how it is used in the classroom. This chapter also mentions the benefits of using technology for teachers and students. In high school, by my senior year we had a SmartBoard in almost every classroom. Some of my teachers used their SmartBoard often while others went on like it wasn't even there. I found that the classes in which it was used were easier for me to stay focused in, than the classes that were mainly verbal lecture.
